Education Programs


Scholarship Program

This program awards full scholarships to

a) deserving but financially challenged students of pharmacy. Students of other selected courses and dependents of soldiers who are in active service, incapacitated or have died in the line of duty, may be considered.

b) Gawad Talino awardees recognized for their academic excellence in Mathematics or Science.

By fostering the tertiary education of these students, MDFI hopes to inspire and encourage them to maximize their potential and aspire to become leaders in the next generation.

Eligibility requirements

a) Deserving but financially challenged pharmacy students

  • On their last two years of study, enrolled in a partner pharmacy school of MDFI
  • General weighted average (GWA) of 2.5 (80%) and above
  • Single, not more than 23 years old
  • Of good health and good moral character
  • Not on any other scholarship or education assistance
  • Not a dependent of an employee of Mercury Drug Corporation, Mercury Group of Companies or its subsidiaries

Applications must be coursed through the school deans or department heads of MDFI’s partner colleges of pharmacy who conduct the initial screenings and make the endorsements to MDFI.

b) Gawad Talino awardees

  • Recipient of MDFI’s Gawad Talino Excellence in Mathematics or Science Award
  • Incoming college freshman
  • Single, not more than 21 years old
  • Of good health and good moral character
  • Not on any other scholarship or education assistance
  • Enrolled in a state university or government-funded school
  • Not a dependent of an employee of Mercury Drug Corporation, Mercury Group of Companies or its subsidiaries
  • Able to maintain a general weighted average (GWA) of 1.75 (90%) and above

Applications are accepted online.

Final screening and selection for both scholarships are conducted by MDFI.
